Industrial
So part of photographing fashion is finding locations. Not at all the easiest of task. And now when it is snow outside its only certain outfits that are really working with the winter wonderland locations available. But if you can take some time to look around you can find some fun places to shoot indoors.
Last week Therese and I had a shoot with Hanna from Umeå and we decided to go with a more industrial feel. So styled in a dress from Saras we were off to a local garage ware cleaning seemed to be optional
And trust me I did not complain one bit.
The key in shooting in this type of environment when a good ambient light is not available is to set your flashes at angels so you emphasize the ruff fell and not flatten out the environment (easily done with a straight on light. Here I am using Elinchroms 175×73 indirect soft box as my main light. And umbrella to fill some parts of the background. I really like Elinchroms indirect boxes because of the even amount of light they distribute (very handy when shooting full body) . Regular soft boxes work great but they tend to have a much more noticeable hot spot that can really irritate me.
In the end after some climbing and some oily hands I felt happy with what I was seeing in the camera and called it a wrap
